Text Me When You Get Home is a piece of gig theatre fusing the electric thrill of a night out with storytelling, poetry, and a raucous 60s soundtrack.
In a city haunted by the global phenomenon of “The Hum”, three supernatural Burds watch over the city’s women as they attempt to stay safe and strong on their nighttime journeys. The show interrogates the phrase ‘text me when you get home’, it’s normalisation and the darker, timeless sentiments that lie behind it.
Through stories of sticky dance floors and wet walks in the dark, Text Me When You Get Home examines rape culture, female solidarity, and the aftermath of the #metoo, Reclaim the Streets and Everyone’s Invited movements.

Supported by Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis, with development supported by the Tron Theatre, Playwrights Studio Scotland, and Creative Scotland, this project brings together a vibrant team of established and emerging artists, fusing talents to present a loud, musical rallying cry.
Text Me When You Get Home is currently looking for programmers and supporters for our next steps of rehearsal into production. Please contact us for the show’s pitch pack or further information.
